Aloy Ejimakor, the Special Counsel to Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, has expressed optimism that justice will prevail at the Supreme Court today, Friday.
Ejimakor disclosed this after his routine meeting with Kanu at the Department of State Services facility in Abuja on Thursday.
In a post on X, Ejimakor wrote: “UPDATE: Today, my dedicated colleagues Barr Mandela, Barr Nnaemeka, and Prince Emmanuel (FineBoy) met with Onyendu #MNK.
“Among the many topical issues discussed, December 15th (Tomorrow) stood out as preeminent. MNK hopes that come tomorrow, justice shall prevail against injustice.”
The Supreme Court will deliver judgement on the appeal by the Federal Government against Kanu’s discharge by the Appeal Court on Friday.
The apex court will also rule on the cross-appeal of Kanu’s lawyers against the stay of the execution of the discharge.
Kanu has been incarcerated since 2021, after he was arrested and subjected to extraordinary rendition to Nigeria.
The Appeal Court had discharged and acquitted him but the Nigerian government has continued to keep him in “solitary confinement.”
