We Are Monitoring Political Situation In Ondo, Says AIG Adebowale

New Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG) in charge of Zone 17 comprising Ondo and Ekiti states, Adebowale Williams, has said that the political was monitoring political situation in Ondo state.

Adebowale said the intervention of President Bola Tinubu helped to reduce political tension in the state.

The AIG zone 17 said it was the duty of the police not to allow crisis erupt in Ondo State.

Adebowale spoke when he received crime reporters in the state.

He said he would collaborate with the Western Security Network, codenamed Amotekun and other security agencies to ensure a crime free environment.

On the poltical tension in Ondo State, he said: “I believe things are back to normal but the command is monitoring the situation and when need demand, our intelligence officers are on ground to ensure that they to prevent crisis anytime there is a lapse. Either we like it or not, some people benefit in crisis and they are the one that want the crisis to happen, so it is for us to ensure that we don’t allow it.

“We are preparing for the coming governorship election and we will make sure the environment is peaceful for every political party, either for campaign or election. We monitor the politicians and the political parties and their activities.”
