Senator Barau Jibrin, the Deputy Senate President has described the mammoth crowd at the reception of the President of the 10th Senate of the Federal Republic, Senator Godswill Akpabio as a testament of acceptance of his leadership by the people of Akwa Ibom State and Nigeria.
The event which took place at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium on Saturday, December 9, 2023 with a large crowd of persons within and outside the State had a flurry of messages of goodwill of accolades.
Senator Jibrin in his goodwill message lauded Senator Akpabio’s impressive impact encapsulated in the ‘Uncommon Transformation’ that is still standing as testament of visionary leadership as a former Governor of Akwa Ibom and his remarkable exploit as Ministry of Niger Delta as Minister.
He noted, “Akwa Ibom State, Niger Delta and Nigeria will never forget the impact of your leadership. We at the Senate and National Assembly are grateful to your sterling and visionary leadership so far.”
Senator Jibrin, like many other speakers at the event, wished the Senate President a happy birthday and many more years of impactful service.
The event which had the Governor of Cross River, His Excellency Prince Otu as chairman on the occasion and Pastor Umo Eno of Akwa Ibom State as principal host was graced respectable Nigerians such as the wife of the President, Her Excellency Sen. Oluremi Tinubu, wife of the Vice President, Hajia Nana Shettima, Honourable Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Tajudeen Abbas, Secretary to the Government of the Federation Senator Akume, among others.
