The Chief Judge of Akwa Ibom State, Justice Ekaete F. Fabian-Obot, has invited all High Court judges in the state to attend a sensitization seminar on assets declaration forms organized by the Code of Conduct Bureau (CCB).
In a letter dated November 4th issued by the Acting Chief Registrar, Winifred M. Umohandi, judicial officers were notified about the seminar scheduled for December 6th at the Judiciary Headquarters in Uyo.
The seminar aims to guide the judges on properly completing the mandatory declaration of assets forms for public officers in line with the Code of Conduct for public officials.
With the CCB facilitating the program, participants will be taken through the accurate process for filling the forms and avoid mistakes that could warrant disciplinary action.
The asset declaration seminar for judges follows similar interventions organized by the Bureau across other states to boost compliance by public office holders.
By equipping judicial officials with a clear understanding of assets declaration protocols, the Akwa Ibom judiciary is hoping to strengthen transparency and accountability mechanisms.
