Gov Umo Eno: Empowering People, Boosting Entrepreneurship

Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Pastor Umo Eno, has embarked on a mission to revolutionize the economic landscape of the state through a series of strategic initiatives aimed at empowering young people and fostering a culture of entrepreneurship.

With his steadfast commitment to changing mindsets and providing enduring means of livelihood, the Governor has taken significant steps in empowering the people and promoting entrepreneurship since he assumed office.

His immense contributions to entrepreneurial development in the State through initiatives that foster business confidence, support new ideas and corporate governance, promote human capacity building, has created a favourable environment for economic growth and sustainability.

Indeed, he is re-awakening the spirit of enterprise by changing the mindsets of young people from consumption to production, thus reducing restiveness and joblessness among our young people.

A point of reference is his donation of 250 million naira to the Ibom Leadership and Entrepreneurial Development Center (Ibom-LED), for the training and mobilisation of about 400 entrepreneurs in the state.

Also, the Governor signed a partnership agreement with the Lagos State based Enterprise Development Centre (EDC), on the Ibom Leadership and Entrepreneurial Development (Ibom-LED) Programme, a partnership that will see to the training and capacity building of 10,000 Akwa Ibom women, with support services to establish SMEs on completion of the training, Governor Umo Eno solidifies his commitment to transforming Akwa Ibom State into a hub of entrepreneurship and innovation.

On several occasions, he has stopped by to encourage, patronize petty traders and also grant financial support for their business. Pray tell, Governor Umo Eno’s unwavering dedication to empowering the youths and fostering entrepreneurship is commendable.

Unarguably, with his visionary approach, His Excellency is steadily paving the way for a brighter future for Akwa Ibom State; one where entrepreneurial and human capital development will flourish, create wealth and contribute ultimately to the socio-economic fortunes of our dear state.
