2023 NUJ PRESS WEEK: Prof. Nsikak Benson’s Vision for Climate Change Journalism in Nigeria

Prof. Nsikak Benson’s keynote presentation at the 2023 Press Week lecture on Monday 4th December, 2023 with the theme; “Development Journalism: Setting the Agenda on Climate Change,” organized by the Nigeria Union of Journalists, Akwa Ibom State Council was nothing short of extraordinary.

As a distinguished and seasoned Professor of Analytical and Environmental Chemistry and the President/Executive Director of the Benson and Maggie Imemeh Foundation, his insights illuminated the urgent intersection of journalism and climate change in Nigeria and World at large.

His presentation didn’t only showcased a profound understanding of the environmental challenges but also demonstrated a keen awareness of the crucial role journalists should play in shaping public discourse.

Prof. Nsikak Benson, a proud son of Afaha Offiong in Nsit Ibom Local Government Area eloquently articulated the need for a proactive approach in addressing climate issues through responsible and impactful journalism.
