Three Suspected Robbers Apprehended In Benue

The Benue State Community Volun­teer Guards (BSCVGs) have again apprehended three armed robbery suspects at the boundary between Opkokwu and Ogbadibo, Local Gov­ernment Areas (LGAs) of the state.

The suspects that were appre­hended by operatives of the BSCVGs, include, Audu Godwin, aka Hazard, Sunday Destiny and Ameh John aka, Aboki.

The robbery incident took place at about 8:45 a.m. on Wednesday when members of the BSCVGs were on pa­trol along Odoba Hill and got wind that armed robbers were operating at the border of the two LGAs.

Sources in the area said the rob­bers had concluded the robbery op­eration and had barely left the scene, when members of the BSCVGs went after the suspects, apprehended them, and handed them over to the Police.

The State Commissioner for Wa­ter Resources, Environment and Climate Change, Hon. Odoh Ugwu, who hails from Ogbadibo LGA, com­mended the bravery of the operatives of the BSCVGs in tackling insecurity in the area and indeed, the state.

He said, “The role of members of the BSCVGs, under the present lead­ership of Austine Enejor, has made tremendous successes and needs to be commended.”

Meanwhile, speaking to newsmen in Makurdi on Thursday, Special Ad­viser to Governor Hyacinth Alia on Security and Internal Affairs, Chief Joseph Har, has confirmed the inci­dent.
